TV

For all the rise of social media, the internet and influencers, TV is still the most effective way to advertise, and grows brand awareness faster than any other medium.

And, with technology such as Video On Demand and Sky AdSmart, getting noticed on the TV is now more affordable than ever.

The power of TV

As anyone who remembers just one thing about Accrington Stanley or the eternal question of ‘Daddy or chips?’ will tell you, TV advertising North East is effective. As the background to people’s lives, TV has an impact like no other, requiring no effort or thought on viewers’ part at all.

And it’s still big business: in 2021, total TV advertising spending in the UK came in at £5.46 billion, with that figure expected to keep rising. In that same year, it is estimated that the average person would see more than 30 TV ads in just one day.

Booking your campaign

Before booking your campaign, there are a few things to think about: the audience you’re trying to reach, how long you want the campaign to run for and, most importantly, budget. You can choose whether to go national or regional, and even specify down to which programme you’d like to run alongside or a specific postcode you’d like to reach.

You’ll also need to think about the time you want your advert to run; think about who you’re trying to reach and then use analytics to find out what they’re watching and how. Do they watch live in the daytime, or are they streaming or watching catch-up in evenings? On the telly itself or on a tablet or mobile?

Next steps

As you can see, the way we all watch TV has changed, so there’s much more to think of nowadays but we can guide you through.

Once we have decided on a channel, our talented team can also think about the commercial production itself.

If you’ve not already got an advert ready to go, we can help from start to finish, from coming up with the creative concept, writing a script and sourcing the talent, to filming, editing, and ensuring the ad is approved by Clearcast, the organisation which approves all TV adverts, ahead of broadcast.
